This shaft section is reproduced from a copy of a section drawn by J Ollerenshaw in 1916 and whose identity is unknown. The mine manager, William Ollerenshaw, was dismissed in June 1915.
The term 'warrant' in the section is a general term used to describe unbedded shales, rocks and clays characteristic of the base of a coal seam, also known as 'seatearth'.
