Proposed Railway
In 1845 it was proposed that a railway should be built between Manchester and Hyde, commencing in Gorton and passing through Denton and Haughton with a branch railway from Denton
terminating at or near to certain collieries known as Denton Collieries.

The Companies Act, 1929
NOTICE is hereby given in pursuance of section 238 of the Companies Act, 1929, that a Meeting of the creditors of the Denton COLLIERY COMPANY Limited will be held at the
Chartered Accountants Hall, Spring-gardens, Manchester, on Tuesday, the 19th day of November, 1929, at 3.30 o'clock in the afternoon
(following a Meeting of the shareholders of the Company at which a Resolution will be considered and
if thought fit passed for the voluntary winding-up of the Company) for the purposes of sections 238 to 240 of the said Act, which include the appointment of a Liquidator.

that a Meeting of creditors of the said Company will be held at the same place and on the same day at 3.30 o'clock in the afternoon, both Meetings being for the purpose of
receiving an account of the acts and dealings of the Liquidator and
of the conduct of the winding-up during the year ended 2nd December, 1930.
